We’ve had several good news stories to report recently. The timetable was changed in March so that every service now calls at every village along the route. You can see the new timetable here.
And this week Monmouthshire County Council reported that they will be cleaning and making good every bus stop and shelter along the route. This will include cutting back greenery, washing around the stop, renewing the timetable holders and inserting copies of the new timetable at every stop.
Good Friday 2nd April – No service

From March 22nd 2021 there will be a new timetable for the 65 bus. All services will be routed through the villages of The Narth and Penallt. There are minor changes to the times of the buses in other villages as well. The new timetables can be found here

We’re delighted that the full timetable will be restored from Monday 7th December, including all Saturday services and the 1715 from Chepstow to Monmouth
From Saturday 5th December 2020, the 65 bus will resume running on Saturdays. The Saturday timetable from Chepstow is available here. And the Saturday timetable from Monmouth is available here
The 1715 service from Chepstow remains suspended for the time being.
The 65 Bus is being featured in the Wye Valley River Festival. It’s part of the Films of Forest and Valley section. You can view the films at https://www.wyevalleyriverfestival.co.uk/films-of-the-forest-and-valley/ There are lots of interesting short films. The film about the 65 Bus is to be found on the top row
From 27th July, it will be mandatory to wear a 3 layer face covering when travelling on public transport in Wales – https://trc.cymru/face-coverings
From 26th May until at least 12th June there are 5 way temporary traffic lights in Chepstow. This has been causing severe delays to the 65 bus service and Monmouthshire County Council have therefore decided to re-route the bus for this period as follows:
- From Chepstow bus station the 65 will go via Mounton Road. This will mean only missing the BP Bus stop ( A48 Newport Road )
- From Monmouth into Chepstow the 65 will go via Welsh Street, missing out Chepstow Hospital and also the BP Bus Stop ( A48 Newport Road )
MCC will be reviewing this on a daily basis and will update us as and when changes are made.
Updates can be found on our Facebook page and Twitter feed
We’re pleased to confirm that the 65 bus service is continuing, despite the current difficult circumstances. The bus is running to its usual timetable WITH THE EXCEPTION OF the 1715 service from Chepstow to Monmouth and all Saturday services, which are temporarily suspended.
We are very grateful to Monmouthshire County Council for recognising the value of this service for essential travel to and from work and the shops. We also owe a great debt of thanks to all the drivers for keeping this service going.
We will update the website whenever there are any changes that affect the service.
